One day I walked in the children's books section of a nearby library and found "The Namesake" and "The Marsh King" by C.W.Hodges, which are half-fiction books about King Alfred.
I liked them very much.
Well, that's how I started drawing Alfred the Great and Edmund the Martyr, along with long-loved Ivanhoe.
